It’s time to get back on the road with me! Season 2 of my docuseries Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana premieres next Monday, Oct. 26, at 9:00 p.m. ET on PBS.
If you traveled with me last season, you know this journey is inspired by the Pan-American Highway, the network of roads that connects the Americas from Alaska to Argentina. We started at the very top of Alaska and made our way down through Canada in Season 1. This season, we cross the Lower 48 through Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona until we touch Mexico. Along the way, we pass through amazing places like Glacier National Park, Missoula, Denver, Breckenridge, Taos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Tucson, Nogales, and everywhere in between.
The farther south I go, the more personal this trip becomes. I met people who are restoring their languages, caring for their land, and reinventing their livelihoods. We shared stories and amazing meals! I came home full in every possible way, and I can’t wait for you to see it.
Here’s where we’re headed:
Oct. 26 | Episode 1 Montana & Wyoming: Small Acts, Wide Ripples. Communities bringing back language, land, and livelihood.
Nov. 2 | Episode 2 New Mexico & Colorado: Life Along the Rio. Following the Rio Grande and the lives it sustains.
Nov. 9 | Episode 3 Arizona: Abundance in the Desert. Culture, history, and surprising abundance in the Sonoran Desert.
Each hour-long episode airs Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET on PBS (check your local listings), or stream them on PBS.org or the PBS app. If you missed Season 1, now is the perfect time to catch up!
I hope you’ll watch and tell me what moves you, either on social media by tagging @patijinich and #PanAmericanaPBS or by sending an email to [email protected]. If you enjoy the show and the stories in it, please pass them along by sharing this series with the people you love.
Con mucho cariño,

What I’m Into Right Now
Traveling ✈️: I have been on the road so much that snack bars now live in my backpack and carry-on. Do tell me your favorite travel snack recommendations. I am always looking for new ones.
Listening 🎵: I’m not sure I ever told you, but as a teenager I desperately wanted to be a flutist. Lately, I have gone back to the music I loved then, especially Claude Bolling and Jean-Pierre Rampal’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano. Also, Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Yo-Yo Ma’s Bach Cello Suites. Tell me what soothes you.
Craving 🍔: As I travel, I am also on a mission to find the best burgers and fries. I have found some stellar ones, especially smashburgers loaded with hot peppers. I am hoping to recreate some of my favorites when I am back home!
Hey Pati
Every day I read messages you send me by email and on social media. I love hearing from you, and I'm sharing some of the great questions you ask.
Q: Hi Pati, Se que mucha gente te ha pedido ir a un tour gastronómico contigo. Pero, como puedes tomar todo? Still, I am asking, I want so much to go on a Mexican food tour with you. One of my dreams is to go to Oaxaca because I’ve heard, amongst other things, how fabulous the food is. I'd also like to taste the offerings of other Mexican states. Please, Pati, if you ever ever decide to do a Mexican food tour PLEASE put me high on the list. Thank you for your uplifting and beautiful self and all the deliciousness, kindness, compassion and joy you share. Love and gratitude for you. - Susan Z.
A: Querida Susan, Your message made my day. Gracias for your beautiful words, and for dreaming about Mexico with me. I share that dream! I have started traveling with friends of the show through Marriott Bonvoy. We did Mexico City last year, and this November we are off to São Paulo. We are already planning more trips, and I am hoping we will return to Mexico in 2027. I will be sure to share the news here first. Un abrazo. - Pati
